Kris Bigalk is a poet and writing professor. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Repeat the Flesh in Numbers, was released from New York Quarterly Books in February 2012. Her work also appears in the anthologies Open to Interpretation: Water’s Edge (Taylor and O’Neill, 2012) and Poetry City, USA, Volume 2 (LowBrow Press, 2012)
Kris’ poetry has recently appeared in Silk Road, The Water~Stone Review, the cream city review, The New York Quarterly, and Rougarou, and is forthcoming in The Foundling Review. Read some of her work online at The Minnetonka Review, 14 by 14, and Caveat Lector.
As the Director of Creative Writing at Normandale Community College, Kris designed and initiated a successful AFA in Creative Writing program and Certificate program. Kris is currently writing a college-level creative writing textbook. She was recognized for her teaching with a 2012 Normandale/Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award.
