Kris Bigalk is a poet and writing professor. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Repeat the Flesh in Numbers, was released from New York Quarterly Books in  2012.  Her work also appears in the anthologies Down to the Dark River (Louisiana Literature), The Liberal Media Made Me Do It (Lummox),  Open to Interpretation: Water’s Edge (Taylor and O’Neill, 2012) and several volumes in the Poetry City, USA

Kris’ poetry has appeared in Silk Road, The Water~Stone Review, the cream city review, The New York Quarterly, The Good Men Project, The Foundling Review, and The Northeast Review, among others.

As the Director of Creative Writing at Normandale Community College, Kris designed and initiated a successful AFA in Creative Writing program and Certificate program. Kris is currently writing a college-level creative writing textbook. She was recognized for her teaching with a 2012 Normandale/Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award.
